A Perfect Setting: Inn the Ground


Zach and Peyton chose to stay at Inn the Ground, a charming regenerative farm and bed-and-breakfast nestled on a hillside in Carlton, Oregon. This beautiful location was ideal for their proposal and engagement photos, offering breathtaking views of the valley and a serene atmosphere that would make their special moment even more memorable.

Zach was determined to make his proposal a complete surprise for Peyton, which meant meticulous planning was essential. Before their arrival, I visited the Inn to scout out the best spots for the proposal. We wanted a picturesque viewpoint that would not only be perfect for the moment but also serve as a stunning backdrop for their engagement session afterward.


 

We worked closely to plan every detail—timing, lighting, and the best angles for capturing the proposal. Zach wanted everything to go off without a hitch, and I was honored to help bring his vision to life.

When it comes to proposals, my goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible. I typically use a telephoto zoom lens, which allows me to capture intimate emotions from a distance. This way, Zach could focus entirely on Peyton without feeling the pressure of a photographer nearby.
